Our Engagement!

I will never ever forget this day! It was December 12'th 2009, Chris & I were walking down "Candy Cane Lane", We arrived at the house with the most lights, I don't remember the exact number now but it was crazy & gorgeous! After we'd walked through the yard & were about to leave, Chris stopped me under the arch way. He got down on his knee, looked up at me and said "Eva, will you take my hand and be beside me from this day forward?" I burst into happy tears & said "yes!" I was thrilled, we have been together since 2006 and hearing those words from him made my heart skip a few beats! :)

This was our kiss, right after I said yes!
After we had both gathered ourselves from the excitement we went to our favorite Starbucks (How romantic!) and discussed how we would tell our friends and family! We ended up having a party with a cake which said "We're Getting Married!" Everyone caught on rather quickly & it was the perfect way to tell them!

Chris & I married last year in New York with only our parents & siblings present. This summer (August) we are having another ceremony & reception where we will be surrounded by friends & family! :)

Kacen & I Are.Very.Sick. & Winter Blues!

It's hit, the worst cold I have ever had in my life!! My head hurts, my throat hurts (I can't talk at all!), my nose is stuffed beyond belief, I am dizzy, achy & tired! Poor Kacen has about the same thing :( This is soo not what I wanted, especially in his first month of life (outside of me that is). Plus, Chris left today for his training,I'll see him again in 2 weeks *sigh* I hope he doesn't come down with this awful sickness!

It's been so cold here for so many months, which brings cold & flu season. It's time for this snow & cold to be gone and spring time to appear! I've been having major winter blues these past few days, which hasn't been too much fun.

Here are a few things I do to make the winter blues easier to deal with!

1) Place fresh flowers (or false bright colored flowers) around your house! Purples, yellows and pinks are great to add some cheer & brightne the mood!

2) Wear bright colored clothing. Winter is usually expressed through our clothes with darker colors such as black, grey & dark blues, reds as well as purples. By brightening our wardrobe we can feel more energetic, awake & happier! :)

3) Exercise. Of course, this is something you should do in the winter-time too, but going for a walk isn't always easy when it's so cold out, you just want to curl up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate. Well, pull out an exercise DVD or some good music & do a little work-out in your home!

I've been doing these things recently and they have truly made a difference in how I feel! I hope you are able to use these tips to feel a little bit happier in these last (hopefully) weeks of winter!

Who Wants To Build A Snowman?

Well, it is official (the weather man said it) we will have snow in our front yard until August. How depressing is that? The sun never shines in this province, I think I live in Alaska not Alberta! We have had one of the worst winters in a long time, once this starts to melt there will be so many floods, especially in rural areas! Start purchasing your sand bags now, if you live here! I can't even count the number of  accidents and deaths due to this horrid weather, it's sad that people aren't able to adjust to the driving conditions when out on the road :(  I sincerely hope the weather man is wrong and I will see Mr. Sun very soon!
This makes me extremely excited to move to our new home a province away in 3 weeks! There is NO snow there! Yipeee! Warm weather & beaches! So excited, this is going to be a tough move, but worth it! :) xoxo

Things are... well... insane?

Since having Kacen I've had absolutely no energy, to do anything. Chris had to go back to work the day after Kacen was born, which has been rough. Chris works nights so he's asleep pretty much all day. Leaving me to fend for myself & Kacen! We've been doing pretty good, I'm just majorly lacking in the sleep department. Chris leaves on Monday for 14 days to extend his fire fighting training - exciting for him, fairly depressing for me. Of course I am thrilled this will help him with his career, but I'd also like to have him home and *awake* to spend time with us. I love being a mom, I do but I'm tired. I feel disgusting, I'm now the master at 'the mom pony tail' and no make-up look. I'm really looking forward to when Kacen decides to sleep at night, even if I don't get to I just want a little down-time, even if it's for 10 minutes.

I have learned to multi-task (big time) since giving birth! I can breast feed Kacen & do other things at the same time! An example - Today I opened AND ate a yogurt with him feeding away! I can now clean up messes with my feet while nursing him. And so many other things that probably seem minor to most, but when you have one or no hands, it is a pretty big deal!

My Love!!

                                                                And my other love!

Oh Sun, Mr Sunshine!

I haven't seen the sun shine in weeks! The sky is grey and of course cloudy. We have been getting up to two feet of snow within a couple of days, it's brutal! I just want to see the sun, the snow melting and grass, green grass! I am so tired of this nasty winter weather. I've been trying to wear brighter clothes and buy fresh flowers for the house, to keep things colorful and warming, rather then dark and depressing! This is a fun time of year to play with make-up and hair colors too!

Hopefully Spring is reallllllly near (It should already be here)
Who else has had enough of the 'dark days'?!

Newest Davies family member!

Chris & I and of course Kacen are getting a new puppy! :) He's a German shepherd pup. We are thinking of names as we get to bring him home in exactly a week! We are deciding between, Diesel, Chaos & Riley. He's a great little pup and LOVES Kacen! He's going to be a great addition to our family, and will make me feel slightly out-numbered with all the testosterone in the house, ha ha ha! Here's a couple pictures of the Davies Pup!

I want to do this again!

Last year Chris & myself went on a trip to South Africa where we donated school supplies! It was such an amazing trip, we are sponsoring four children in South Africa, we wish we could sponsor more (like every single one of them) but, sadly.. at this time we aren't able to afford it. In the future we do hope we can sponsor more little one's and hopefully, in different places. Our hopes are also to one day adopt a child from a different country who is in need. We have our amazing, sweet wonderful son together (Kacen) but now we feel it is our responsibility (for lack of better word) to adopt a child in need of a happy, healthy loving home. We both hope this happens within the next few years. Anyways, I really want to go back to SA and donate more supplies and visit our sponsor children again. It was a very amazing experience and I would kill to do it again!

Please, if you can. Donate! It can save a life and make someone's day just a little bit better :) xoxoxox

Wedding Invites!

I began going through all the pictures we have of us today, good god we have a LOT! Too many for me to just choose one, I am beginning to think I may just do a different pic on each invite, that way everyone's is sort of personalized and so forth. Plus, I am trying to make as many things as I can myself to make it even more special. Here are a few pics!

These are a few of our favorite pictures, but we have tons! Everyone describes us as a fun, easy-going, loving couple. :) I guess our wedding should probably represent that, haha ;)
